Bill Self, a popular and successful Basketball Coach was born in the city of Okmulgee Oklahoma on December 27th, 1962. In December 2023, Bill owns a fortune value of approximately $10 million. Bill was the head coach of Kansas during the 2013 season. He was the assistant coach to freshman sensation Andrew Wiggins. Self following the rebuilding of the Golden Eagles was hired by Tulsa. He spent three seasons there (1998 through 2000) which included Tulsa's most successful season of 74-27. Self served as the head coach for TU's Golden Hurricane in consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (1999 and 2000). Self directed this team called the Golden Hurricane, which had an average of 32-5 over 1999 and 2000. Self also helped the Golden Hurricane reach its first Elite Eight. As a coach at the college level, Self led Kansas University in 2012 to the NCAA Championship. He was named Naismith College coach of the year for 2012. That same year, was awarded his fourth Big 12 Award of Coach of Year. He was married Cindy Self in 1989. Tyler is his son, and Lauren is Lauren's daughter. Self was born close to Morris High School in Okmulgee. Self's father was the girl basketball coach at this school. He received a basketball scholarship to attend Oklahoma State University. He earned the honor of being a letter-winner for the entire four seasons he played. He received a bachelor's degree in business in 1985 from Oklahoma State in 1985. The master's degree in athletic management was awarded to him in the year 1989. Bill is one the richest basketball coaches in the United States. Self's predecessor Lon Kruger was recently offered an offer within the NBA in the role of Atlanta Hawks' head coach.
