Students from all over the globe joined in her #FridaysforFuture-inspired strike. They skipped classes on Fridays to protest the effects of climate change. In 2019 climate campaigners all over the world came together to coordinate the inaugural Global Strike for Climate. This was a huge success. More than 1.6 million participants from more than 125 countries took part.
