Katherine Heigl is open about her childhood living in "a the white bubble." She also explains the impact that this realization has had on the way she raises adopted children who are multi-racial. In an interview, she said recent interview that, with regards to the color of her skin the issue isn't that important. After speaking with her sister who is adopted in South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats the children. Meg was asked whether her treatment was different when they were out together with their parents and then when they went alone. Meg responded "Oh I do, each and every occasion!" Heigl told parents: "That was when I realized that my naivety had caused me to feel." She confessed that she was frustrated and felt it was necessary to use her anger to support her children. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4 have been together for thirteen years. The couple adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) and is black and was adopted in 2009.
